अँधा बदल - The Blind Cloud

One of the few poems I wrote in Hindi:

अँधा था बादल
जो बाहों में था चाँद,
घुर्राते गरजते
ढुंडा था प्यार.

तोड़ के बंधन
जब निखल आया चाँद,
बादल ने पिगला
बहलाते आसून.

And the translation:

The cloud was blind, though it had the moon in its arms
Storming and thundering and searching for love.
Breaking the bonds, when the moon emerged,
Melted the cloud with tears of rain.

Oh dear dear what a fool I was,
for nearness sake I pushed you afar.
cut to the quick, and quick to cut
you have gone deep, to a cold dark hell

Twice that I fell, to yearn to be near
Felled by your pain, and felled by your care
Care I confess to peep in your shell
Am I so sure that this is no hell..?

Rue

Where are you life,
I'm searching for you.
Blindness and emptiness,
I'm having to face,
With all that I have,
and much more to do.

Give me your hand,
to help me our way.
Winded and broken,
I came here for you.
With all that I have,
and much more to do.

Here, take my smile,
to allay your woe.
The phantoms will fade,
for I laugh in our throe,
With all that I have,
and much more to do.

You are my hope,
you are my faith.
With you I dream,
and make things complete.
That's all I have,
and nothing else to do.

Love....

I was browsing through some of my old diaries, and came across this poem that I wrote. I had lost faith in the concept of love one day; felt disillusioned and wrote the first half of the poem. Then came dawn, penetrating my gloom with rays of hope. And I wrote the closing sentences:

Love is a Snow capped Mountain.
It amazes and captivates from afar,
but is dreadfully tiresome to par.
Trodden with difficulty is the path,
purpose and faith you'll need a lot.
But in the end is the bliss of those lofty heights,
even vying for which is worth a life.
